Caturday 600x200
KateWho says cats need two eyes? Kate is proof that eyes ARE optional. This sweet girl came to the KHS through an investigation, in need of food, care, and medical treatment. It was determined that Kate was partially blind in her right eye. Her skin was scaly, her fur scratchy, and her nose swollen.
After consultation with a veterinarian, it was determined that Kate’s eye condition was a result of some sort of trauma. We don’t know Kate’s story, but it was then that we realized she needed a new home and a second chance in life.
Kate immediately stole the hearts of many staff, including our Animal Care Coordinator, who decided to take her home as a foster until Veterinary Care staff could come up with a treatment plan. It was determined that Kate required bloodwork, infectious disease testing, and ultimately surgery to remove her affected eye. Kate has since had that treatment and surgery, and has been deemed healthy, happy, and fit for adoption!
Kate is an energetic, active, and playful four year old cat. She definitely does not act her age! She enjoys the company of other cats, but would do well with younger ones as she loves to play! Older, mature cats might find her a little overbearing. She would likely do well with dogs with a proper introduction. Kate loves to chat – she will let you know when she’s hungry! She will curl up with you for daytime naps and when it’s time for bed. She is a purr-machine!
