Serious Collision

A two vehicle crash on Highway 38 at McIvor Road has left two people in hospital…one in critical condition…the other in serious conditions.

Police were called to the scene of the crash around 8:15 last night.

No details have been released.

Investigators were on the scene all night and the highway was closed until around 6:30 this morning.

Fatal Crash

A 74 year old woman died in a single vehicle crash on Highway 41 north of Napanee Friday morning.

Police say the woman was alone in the vehicle when it left the road and rolled over just after 8am on Friday.

They have not released her name.

Missing Man Found

A missing 87 year old man from Kingston has been found in Smiths Falls.

Kingston Police issued a call for help in locating Blair Breckenridge on Saturday night after he left his residence in west end Kingston.

Police say they were notified Breckenridge and his vehicle were found by police in Smiths Falls at about 1:30 Sunday morning.

A 16 year old reported missing last week was also located in Smiths Falls.  Justin Bennet was found last Thursday night.

Turtle Fencing

Work to install fencing to keep turtles off Princess Street between John Counter Boulevard and Parkway begins today.

The city says it doesn’t expect the work to have an impact on traffic.

Turtles Kingston raised more than $30,600 for the project and the city is contributing $85,600.

The city also got a provincial grant of $59,000 to build turtle-nesting platforms and additional fencing.

KGH – Smoke Free Property

Kingston General Hospital is now a completely smoke free workplace.

Its ban on smoking has expanded to include anywhere on the KGH property.

Three smoking shelters have been removed and patients and people working at the hospital will have to go off the property to light up.

The complete smoking ban went into effect yesterday and the hospital says it is offering smoking cessation opportunities for those who want to quit.
