The first happening at London Bridge, where a speeding van plowed into pedestrians, and the second, a knife incident at a nearby cafe at Borough Market where suspects stabbed members of the public, and police.

The attacks tonight come less than two weeks after 22 people were killed and over 100 injured after an explosion outside Manchester Arena, the site of an Ariana Grande concert.
It also comes less than 24 hours before music’s biggest names including Grande, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and more pay tribute to the victims of the Manchester attacks with a benefit concert, ‘One Love Manchester’.

Toronto’s own Luka and Jenalyn – two ballroom dancers who were in London to promote the dance-competition show World of Dance and were staying right by the market when they heard gun shots tonight, spoke with our reporter Maurie Sherman about what they heard.
“Well, at first I was taking a nap and when I woke, I woke up to gun shots and people screaming outside…” Jenalyn said.
She added, “we had no idea what was really happening and when we were just on the balcony, the police told us to just come down [ and told us to leave ]. “
Luka spoke about the emotions he felt when he heard the gun shots, telling Maurie, “the emotion was just fear and confusion. We couldn’t exactly see what happened, we could see the aftermath…There’s a lot of fear, a lot of confusion, a lot of stress and trying to figure out what to do.”
