NEW YORK — Fox’s animated series “Family Guy” lives to lampoon human nature and human frailties. That’s not about to change as it begins its 16th season.

The season premiere will poke fun at the show’s own failure, year after year, to win an Emmy Award. In the episode, “Family Guy” namesake Peter Griffin tries to remodel his series on real-life Emmy winners in a bid to win Emmy love.

Guest voices include Julie Bowen, Louis C.K. and Bill Maher.

“Family Guy” premieres Sunday.
