Ice Fisherman Rescue

Three ice fishermen have been rescued from the ice in Lake Ontario in a combined effort by the Loyalist Township Fire Department and Kingston Fire and Rescue.

They were trapped around five yesterday afternoon about 12 hundred feet off the shore from Finkle Park in Bath.

There was about 75 feet of open water between them and the ice on the shore.

The Loyalist department doesn’t have an open water ice rescue team and called in Kingston’s ice water rescue team.  It brought all three men and their gear back to shore successfully and nobody was injured.
