Get ready for some unexpected twists and turns with this story! Dr. James Lilja, a practicing obstetrician-gynecologist in San Jose was on trial for medical malpractice when he saved the life of one of the jurors during the trial. The juror went into cardiac arrest in the court room, so Lilja performed CPR and then used the external defibrillator. Here’s the twist, he was the drummer for Offspring from 1984 to 1987.  So you’d think he’d get a pardon or something for his good deed, right? Wrong. Worried that the jury would be influenced by the good Doctor’s actions, the judge declared a mistrial, and set a new trial date for April 2.
