Are you in search of an older dog that is good with children over 10 and that will greet you at the door excitedly? Mertle is your girl! She is a very graceful lady that loves to be by your side, whether it be curled up on the couch watching TV or walking down the street. There isn’t much that she doesn’t like, including other canine pals. She would love to find a home with another canine companion but would also enjoy having all of the attention for herself. Mertle is a very social and sweet little gal that arrived to the shelter as a stray and our staff don’t know why no one has come looking for her. She underwent dental surgery and had 4 teeth extracted. For a middle-aged girl she was terrific during it all. Mertle loves food, a little too much we think as she is now on a low-calorie diet for her weight. For being an older gal, she has a perfectly good bark box and would not be suitable for an apartment style homes – rural or suburban life would be ideal. Mertle would prefer a quiet home to live out her years in with a loving, caring family. She is currently working on her ‘Sit’ and ‘Shake’ commands and could benefit from further training. Do you believe that your family is suitable for a furry princess and you will love her unconditionally for the rest of her life? If you think so then don’t hesitate to drop by the shelter to meet this beauty! She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated and comes with 30 days of free pet insurance!
