Brock Street Closed

Kingston Police were investigating a serious traffic incident involving a person on Brock Street in downtown Kingston this morning.

Brock Street from Barrie Street to Division Street was closed indefinitely for what police called a serious motor vehicle incident.

Police were called to Brock Street and Division Streets shortly before 3:00 a.m. to assist an ambulance that was already on the scene.

Big Dig – Princess and Division

One of downtown Kingston’s busiest intersections will be closed starting today.

The intersection of Princess Street and Division Street will be closed for the final stage of work on the Big Dig.  The city of Kingston says the intersection will be closed until July 1st…the day Princess Street will re-open between Division and Clergy Streets.

The city says the Princess – Division intersection will close when police re-open Brock Street.

Car – Cyclists Collide

A collision involving a car and cyclists on Bath Road near Jim Snow Road sent three people to hospital…one with critical injuries.  The OPP says the cyclists were standing on the side of Bath Road in Loyalist Township around 3:30 yesterday afternoon when they were hit by a car.

One cyclist suffered critical injuries and the two others suffered serious injuries.

Bath Road was closed between Jim Snow Road and County Road 6 while police conducted their investigation.

The cyclists were involved in the 7 Days in May Tour for Pancreatic Cancer.

Advance Voting – Kingston and the Islands

The final leader’s debate has taken place before the Ontario election and advance voting for the June 7th provincial election is underway.  Advance voting started on Saturday and continues today, tomorrow and Wednesday at polling stations in Kingston.  They’re open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Artillery Park, the Calvin Park Library, Gore Road Fire Hall and Royal Kingston Curling Club.

You can also vote from now through June 6th at the Returning Office for Kingston and the Islands.  It’s located at the former Sears store at the Cataraqui Centre.

La Pizzeria – For Sale

The pizzeria in Napanee made famous by Avril Lavigne is up for sale.

Bill and Marina Kosmopoulos are selling La Pizzeria in downtown Napanee after 36 years of serving up pizza’s in the town.  The couple says they’re looking forward to retirement.

Pop singer and Napanee native Avril Lavigne is a big fan of the pizza shop and helped make it famous after she become a star.
