Kingston – Sexual Assault Arrest

 

Kingston Police have arrested a man following a sexual assault in downtown Kingston.  A woman was sexually assaulted early Saturday morning.  Police arrested a man on Saturday after issuing a request for help from the public in identifying a suspect captured on surveillance video.

No information has been released on the man who was arrested.

 

Fredericton Funeral

 

A Kingston Police officer was one of hundreds in Fredericton, New Brunswick on the weekend for the funeral service of two officers who were shot and killed.  Kingston Police Constable Sara O’Toole says every police officer can identify with the dangers of the job.

O’Toole arrived in Fredericton on Friday for the funeral of the officers on Saturday.

She says officers feel the need to come together to console each other.

 

Firefit – Napanee

 

The Kitchener Fire department won the team event at the Firefit challenge in Napanee on the weekend.

A team from the Napanee department finished 8th and the Kingston Firefit team placed 15th in the eastern Ontario and Quebec regional competition.

Claude Belanger of Longueil, Quebec placed first in the men’s individual competition and Katherine Ross of Brampton won the women’s event.

The regional event in Napanee on the weekend was a qualifier for the national competition this September in Calgary.
