School Buses – 401 Traffic

It was back to school today for most students…but…school buses were cancelled in Prince Edward County.  Snowsqualls blowing off Lake Ontario resulted in the cancellation of school transportation in the County.

The 401 Eastbound in the area of Camden East was closed for close to two hours this morning after a tandem snowplow went off the highway overnight.  Traffic was moving again shortly before 8:00 A.M.

Truck Fire

A real scare for a man and his wife in Central Frontenac.

The truck they were in caught fire on Guigue Road around 9:45 yesterday morning.

Central Frontenac Fire and Rescue says the woman was disabled and her husband had to drag her through the snow to get away from the burning vehicle.

When firefighters got there the truck was fully involved in fire and there were small explosions due to ammunition inside the vehicle.

Nobody was injured and the cause of the fire is believed to be a mechanical issue.

Kingston’s Priorities

You are being asked to tell Kingston city council what your priorities are for Kingston.

City council is going to be establishing a list of priorities for its four year term…but wants feedback from the public first.  An online survey is available on the city’s website and a special meeting of city council on February 19th will be held to get direct feedback from the public.

Mr. Moosey comes to Kingston

You may have heard of Mr. Moosey…a stuffed toy Moose a young girl in the U.S gave to a police officer after he had stopped her mother’s vehicle to give her mother a warning.  Now the stuffed moose toy is on a world tour.  It has arrived at Kingston Police headquarters and got a warm welcome from Deputy Police Chief Chris Scott yesterday.

The stuffed toy is being used to promote a message of keeping police officers safe.

A Facebook page has been set up for the girl to be able to follow what’s called the “Mr. Moosey’s World Tour”.
