The Maple Leafs are suing Snoop Dogg

Great, now the chances of Snoop Dogg doing commentary on a Leafs broadcast are out the window… Ya blew it, Toronto!

The Maple Leafs are suing Snoop Dogg for “copying” their logo and using the term ‘Leafs’ for his new marijuana company called Leafs by Snoop.

Looks to me that Canopy Growth is trying to benefit from its Snoop Dogg logo ‘Leafs by Snoop’ resembling the Toronto Maple Leafs logo.

Apparently it all started last July, when Snoop began the patent process for his new brand.

The Leafs filed their opposition in December, taking issue with the use of ‘Leafs’ because “The unusual spelling could lead to confusion” adding “the similarity between the marks is exacerbated by the design elements of the LEAFS BY SNOOP Mark…”
