Looking for an active, large-breed fellow to add to your family?! Horace is one of the most playful pooches in the building, and would love running about in your fenced yard with you! He is an energetic guy who would benefit from obedience training. He is a very smart cookie that knows sit, paw, other paw, and both paws. Horace came to the shelter as a stray needing some socialization. He can be selective about his canine pals as he’s not bad with a submissive female canine pal, but dislikes males. We believe he may do best in a suburban or rural home due to his selectivity of other dogs. Because of this, we feel that he wouldn’t do well in an apartment and wouldn’t enjoy a dog park. Poor Horace doesn’t “show” well in the shelter, as he can be quite vocal and is not cut out for urban center living. It’s important that he meets new people at his pace in a calm, slow manner. He requires a dog experienced owner that understands dog behaviour. With patience, time and kindness, his new family will be rewarded with a loyal companion. If your family is over the age of 14 who will work with Horace on his behavioural quirks, visit the shelter to chat more with our adoptions staff!
