Do you have a love of beagle breeds? Are you ready for a life of adventure? Meet Gunner – this good looking boy was brought into the shelter as a stray. He is super sweet and friendly and would be okay with a first time owner. He might like agility or another activity and will definitely be an amazing running partner. Gunner is very vocal in his kennel and it is LOUD. Because of this, we have a restriction of absolutely no apartments or attached housing. Gunner’s new owner must have a detached house. Gunner also needs to be kept occupied and is very well behaved with a food-filled Kong or other enrichment toy. When he is bored, he barks incessantly. He may do well with a well-socialized and tolerant dog but will need time to adjust first as he can be quite rude. He would be too overbearing at a dog park and wouldn’t be a great candidate for this type of outing. As with many beagles, he gulps his food quickly so you may want to monitor feeding times if other pets are in the home. He can be very jumpy and rude at times so obedience training is a must! This high energy pal needs a home with no children under 10 to allow him the right environment to blossom into a well-mannered boy. He will definitely chase small animals as he has that very curious and pretty driven personality. Beagles are very fun and entertaining, and have a very friendly disposition. Gunner is ready to be spoiled rotten by his new owners. Are you ready to give Gunner his forever home?
