In the approaching year, Weezer’s iconic 1994 Blue Album will hit its 30th anniversary, and the band is already dropping hints about their plans for a grand celebration, including a deluxe reissue and an extensive tour.

In a recent interview with Collider, Rivers Cuomo, the band’s singer-guitarist, shared insights into the upcoming festivities. He expressed, “We are in the process of brainstorming ideas to pay homage to the album appropriately. Our intention is to release a truly spectacular deluxe edition containing a plethora of additional content, and naturally, we’re gearing up for an unforgettable tour.”

Weezer has confirmed a tour across the UK and Ireland in 2024, laying the groundwork for the commemoration of the Blue Album afterward. Cuomo playfully hinted at the post-tour plans, stating, “Our public tour dates extend until June, and then there’s this intriguingly vacant space in our calendar for the subsequent months. I would advise keeping a close watch on that.”

Originally unveiled on May 10, 1994, Weezer’s Blue Album has stood the test of time. In 2004, the band released a deluxe edition, augmenting the original 10-song collection with an additional 14 tracks, featuring outtakes, demos, and acoustic renditions. Now, as the 30th anniversary approaches, fans can anticipate a renewed celebration of this musical milestone.
