Def Leppard has some new material that they’re itching to get out there in October, and Phil Collen says that the way they recorded it, makes it the best album since a certain famous one…

I think it’s the best thing we’ve done since Hysteria – I really do. It’s the loudest rock guitars we’ve ever had.”

While they originally planned to write an EP, they ended up writing 14 songs for their new album:

“In the old days the Stones, Zeppelin, James Brown, the Beatles, they’d go into the studio when they had an idea and they’d record it. We’ve done it like that, and it has a fresher kind of sound for it. The integrity is just amazing – you can hear that in the grooves.”

Def Leppard are currently on their North American leg of their tour. With dates in the UK, Japan, and Australia planned for the rest of the year.
