The results have come out from a survey that asked guys what their ideal Man Cave would look like.

The closest thing I have to a “man cave” is the spare room in our house, which has framed posters of some of my favourite bands(Led Zeppelin, The Tragically Hip, The Beatles).  No bar or TV in there though. Sigh.

Here’s what the survey reveals about how the ideal man cave should look:

1. The most important features for a man cave are multiple TVs and a killer sound system. An indoor putting green finished last in the survey.

2. 42% of guys with a man-cave said they have more than one TV in it. 40% also have some sort of video game setup. 29% have a fully stocked bar. 24% have a dart board. And 21% have a pool table.

3. Most men have a “theme” for their cave. The most popular theme (34%) is something sports related. A gamer theme was second(17%), then it was a tie between hunting/fishing and beer/alcohol (14%).

4. Beer is the most popular drink to stock your man cave. Soda and hard liquor were next.

5. 56% of guys said the ideal place for a man-cave is the basement (finishing ahead of a spare bedroom or the garage.)

6. The #1 celebrity guys want to hang out with in their man-cave is The Rock. Millennials would also like to hang with Drake . . . Gen Xers would hang with Bill Murray . . . and Baby Boomers would like to have a beer with Tom Hanks.

7. 42% of guys with man-caves said they hang out in there just about every day. 35% said they head there a few times a week.

8. 5% said they spent more than $10,000 setting up there man cave.

9. 52% of men said that, ideally, their significant other would never set foot in their man cave.
