Bob Marley is a global icon. You know his music and you know he had dreadlocks but we dug up some #JACKfacts that you might not know. Turn on some Marley and read on!

6. Bob Marley never won a Grammy, but he does have the highest-selling reggae album of all-time. The 1984 compilation Legend, released 3 years after his death, has sold over 33 million albums worldwide and still sells a few thousand copies every week.

5. He recorded his first single “Judge Not” way back in 1962 (when he was only 16). Give it a listen, the future reggae legend is barely recognizable!

4. When he was a kid, Marley would impress people with his spooky flair for palm reading. But when he declared that his new destiny was to become a singer at age seven, he stopped reading palms and focused on his music.

3. He ranked 5th on Forbes 2017 list of top-earning dead celebrities. His brand includes coffee, headphones, marijuana (duh) and he helped his estate earn $23 million that year!

2. His name was Robert Nesta Marley, but legend has it he was actually born Nesta Robert Marley.

His mother swapped his middle and first name after an immigration official told her Nesta sounded like a girl’s name.

1. He owned a BMW, not because he particularly cared for luxury cars but because he liked that BMW was the same initials as Bob Marley and the Wailers.
